Tulips on the Solstice

My comics poem "Tulips" is in the current online issue of the literary magazine Solstice. Also, Digital Media Editor Andrai Whitted interviewed me about my work and this whole comics poetry thing.

This... this is something special.
I have to say, I thought I'd be merely amused as I started, entertained maybe. Hard to articulate, but either way it genuinely surprised and moved me! That, to me, is what "real" poetry will do; it brings you somewhere that you didn't expect. This piece captured a truth; one that all Northern-living people will immediately recognize. Those last three frames were like breathing in freezing air; it burns and is bracing at the same time.
