TIOWWCA coverage
Post #1224 • August 27, 2008, 5:14 PM • 4 Comments
The Importance of What We Care about got a nice blurb in SEE Magazine, one of the local weeklies. An installation shot, including a detail of The Large Glass, now appears on the NESW site. We're also expecting some significant coverage in one of the local dailies Friday.
I have received a lot of nice comments about the glass piece, and I'll post more images when I can get some comprehensible shots of it. In the meantime, in answer to Necee, the trick is Golden black gesso, which was just fluid enough to brush out and just viscous enough to stay put on the vertical glass.

You know, they sell glass painting paint. I looked into once.
Every year at Christmas in our old apartment Dawn and our roommate Colleen and I would paint the big window using plain old acrylics. T-shirt paint, if I remember correctly.

That Edmonton group has a snazzy looking gallery. I'd say that on their site too, except I'm to lazy to fill out the stuff for an "account".

Ahhh...now I understand. If only I had Golden black gesso when I was eight.
In the meantime, my email address via the link should read: necee@necee.com, I believe...
