wwc, I quite like your "Lisboa, Lisbon". It strongly reminds me of the lyrics and delivery of Buck 65, if I may make the rather associative cross-discipline comparison.

Do they sing in Portuguese? I'll look them up...

All the text in the book is from the language tapes I listened to in a sad attempt to be able to communicate. Luckily Lisbonistas are nice and drawing works everywhere.

Written Portuguese is very close to Spanish, but the spoken version is very different. Personally, I find spoken Portuguese unpleasantly nasal and generally unattractive aurally.
