Today's post was placed in a comment thread at Iconoduel. Always a pleasure to get into it with Dan.

Anyone, however well intentioned, who in any way defends what I consider not only indefensible but pernicious is not only wasting his time but also his credibility, certainly as far as I'm concerned. I will not give Krauss and cohorts the time of day at this point, and I'll be damned if I'm going to listen to utterly unconvincing if pious pleas on their behalf. It's not so much that these people are of absolutely no use or interest to me, but that they have done significant harm and persist in doing more. Given that, I have no sympathy for them. None. Intellect, when sufficiently misused or perverted, is abominable.

Please to attend to this writing sample from October editor and confirmed Frenchman Yve-Alain Bois.

I posted the following on his site:
The quote above "this is the enemy, folks" was posted on artblog.net by me.
You say it is not constructive. No, it isn't. Not on the face of it, anyway. It is instructive. It is meant to tell people who really love art what is arrayed against them, what is arrayed against art.
It is very hard to fight this monster. If you can advise people to get out of the way you have done something for them and for art, and you have done something constructive.
I'm sorry. That's the way it is.
