Gilbert Bouchard missing

Some troubling, puzzling news has come from Edmonton: Gilbert Bouchard, who profiled my exhibition at Common Sense for the Edmonton Journal, has been missing for ten days and neither friends, family, nor police have any idea what has happened to him. A hundred people gathered this past Sunday to fan out and search for him, to no avail, and police searches have been conducted of a river near where he was last seen. Coverage of the story has appeared in Metronews, See, and Vue Weekly.

I had a great time talking to Gilbert about art, comics, theater, and the Edmonton cultural scene. He was jovial and knowledgeable, and he gave me astute suggestions regarding my work. With no evidence to go on, including evidence of some misfortune, we may yet hope for a happy outcome. My thoughts are with him, his family, his many friends, and the arts community of Edmonton, which regards him as an indispensable proponent.
