thai fruit and vegetable carving

Post #490 • March 10, 2005, 6:49 AM • 4 Comments

From the Asian festival at Fruit and Spice Park down in Homestead this past weekend: Thai fruit and vegetable carving. I love this.

Beets and a squash.

Canteloupes and some other melon.

Beets and radishes.

Drum roll please - the watermelon.

Theory shmeory: making beautiful stuff is good.

On a related note, thank you to Rene for lending me Ong Bak. It totally kicked ass. No computer graphics, no stunt doubles, no wires - go watch the trailer.

I've never seen this stuff. It's great. Love that watermelon.

It's way too pretty to eat, though.

This reminds me of the Gala buffets they have once a week on cruise ships. Food looks so nice you don't want to eat it. Fortunately, they do give people time to take photos first before the feast.
